Ruminant Health & Welfare launch report highlighting immediate gains of ruminant health on methane emissions

Ruminant Heath & Welfare - Acting on Methane Cover

Launched in April 2022, the below report highlights the role reducing key endemic diseases in ruminants can play in contributing to the Global Methane Pledge formed at COP26 to reduce methane emissions by 30% by 2030.

RH&W has worked alongside Dr Philip Skuce, principal scientist at Moredun Research Institute, to detail actionable guidance for the livestock sector to reduce their methane emissions through improved animal health.

The report details available interventions for priority health and welfare conditions to provide a starting point for discussions between farmers, vets and animal health advisers about identifying disease goals with methane reductions in mind.

Read the full report to discover more about reducing emissions through the intervention of endemic diseases.
